Terms of Service

Mowing, Edging & Blowing:
Mow front and back yard with 36 inch Wright Zero turn Stander or Honda commercial mulching mowers.  Edge along sidewalks and driveways with steel blade edger.  Line trim around flower beds, fences, trees (please protect as they can become damaged from line trimmer), A/C units, and areas that are not accessible with the mower.  Blow sidewalk, driveway, and patio areas clean.

Payment Terms:
Prices listed on the Pricing page are for customers who pre-pay for services or who have credit card information on file.

All prices are listed including applicable sales tax.

Customers with weekly or bi-weekly service, may set up a billing account.  .  Billing accounts are billed at the end of each month. If an account is begun in the middle of the month then Payment is reverted to a 4 cut bill. Payment is due by the 10th day of the following month. If your payment is not received by the 15th day of the month, an additional charge will be added to your credit card for the amount billed on your statement plus a $15.00 late and processing fee.

Yard Access
Your gate must remain unlocked for the full day of your regularly scheduled service.  If you prefer not to unlock your gate, we would recommend that you use a combination lock and that you provide us with the password or combination.  We are unable to send our crews back or issue any credit for not mowing inside a locked fenced area.

Pets and Yard Debris
Please let us know if you have any pets that are kept outside in order that our crews may be aware of them.  Our crews will make every effort to not let your pet through the gate, but we cannot guarantee your pet will not escape from your yard.  Please leave your pet inside on your scheduled service days.  Please pick up all pet droppings, toys, bones, large rocks, etc. the day prior to your scheduled service.  These items are very hazardous if hit by the mower blades and can result in serious damage to your property and our equipment,  or serious injury to our crew or others.

Service Days
Work is performed Monday through Friday. . Once we are into the full growing season, our crews will strive to arrive at approximately the same time each week.  Numerous factors can affect our schedule, therefore, we cannot guarantee a specific time of day for each service.  Please do not water your lawn the day before, or the day you are scheduled, as this may contribute to difficult mowing conditions, and prevent a quality mowing.

Properties scheduled on specific days must allowed the day prior to or day after for variables in conditions. (weather). Ex:  Thurs scedules can be cut on Weds or Fridays if weathers predictions call for rain on Thursday.

Rain/Weather Delays
We do mow in light rain or after the rain lightens up.  Should you think that it is too wet to mow, please contact us to skip service that day.  If we have determined that the conditions are too wet to allow a proper mowing, then you can expect us to service your property later that day if the rain subsides.  If in our determination the conditions are too wet to service at all for a day, our daily schedule for that week will change from the day you are normally scheduled to the next day, including Saturday.  For example, if weather prohibited us from mowing on a Wednesday, then the Wednesday scheduled service would be done on Thursday.  The Thursday schedule would be done on Friday; and the Friday schedule would be done on Saturday.

Schedule Changes and Skips
We try to accommodate any scheduling changes you desire.  If for any reason, you need to re-schedule, cancel, or skip a service, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance by telephone (631-506-9831) or email us at shortcutslawns@optonline.net  We will make every effort to make the change if you contact us within 24 hours, however, we cannot guarantee the change.  If you have requested a skip service, your service will continue the next week as usual.  Our crews will not decide whether your property needs to be cut, so you will need to call or email us to cancel or skip a scheduled mowing.

Service Cancellations
Our goal is customer satisfaction!  You may cancel your service at any time.  Neither party is under any obligation to continue service.  It is our desire for you to be pleased with our service and continue with our service each season.  Should you cancel your service prior to the 4 mowing minimum, the less than 4 mowing rates will apply to the previous services.. 

Lot Sizes
Our service pricing is based on the size of your lot.  Please refer to our pricing page once you have determined your lot size.  Larger lots or lots with very steep areas, multiple levels, or any lot outside the normal characteristics for our area, will require a custom quote.  Please contact us, and we will provide you with a custom quote free of charge. Also Split service is available as well, meaning that if you choose to have your front or back  service prices also vary.

Service Issues
Bi-Weekly services are offered.  However, we do not recommend this service.  Many conditions will affect your yard growth (watering & fertilization schedules, etc.)  Industry accepted mowing standards, which we adhere to, recommend only cutting 1/3 of the grass heights each mowing.  Bi-weekly service inherently causes such problems as clumps of grass or grass appearing to be cut unevenly.  We will not be able to send crews back to correct these issues or guarantee these services as we do on our weekly services. 

Property Damage
Please contact us immediately if there is any property that is damaged by our crew.  The most common damage is a sprinkler head, drain cap, or valve cover.  Upon your notification, we will repair the damage in a timely manner.  * * * We will not honor any request for repair expenses for damaged property that we were not made aware of or  allowed to repair in a timely manner.* * *  If we are unable to repair the damage professionally, we will make arrangement to hire someone who is qualified to make the repair.  To report any damage please contact us by phone or email shortcutslawns@optonline.net  

Complaints
Our goal is total customer satisfaction!  If our work is not satisfactory, or you think we did not service your yard, we do not give credits, however, we will re-send the crew to re-mow your yard without additional charge.  The re-mow will be done either on the same day (time permitting) or the next business day.  Your notification of unsatisfactory service must be received within 24-hours of the service.  If you do not notify us within 24-hours of the service, we will consider the work satisfactory for the scheduled service.  

Custom Services (Brush, Shrubs, Beds, & other request)
We have two-men Bed & Brush crews that can trim, clean, or install, your plants, beds, shrubs, or mulch in order that you may enjoy them for the entire season.  Short Cuts lawn care is a very diverse lawn and landscape organization.  We are adding services to our menu continually.  If you have a needed service, please contact us for a custom quote
